It is Advent but Christmas is coming! So many things to do! So many things to get! I have been reminded in recent days of Matt Redman’s song:

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about you, it's all about you Jesus
I'm sorry lord for the thing I've made it
When it's all about you, it's all about you Jesus.

I see the challenge to look to the real things of Christmas. To look to the reason Jesus came. The world needed a Saviour. Look to the unexpected way God sent his Son. Our worship is to welcome and praise him.

Jesus is the gift !

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, thank you for Christmas and all it means to the relationship between you and me. Help me to grow in that relationship as I seek to know more of you. Help me to see and show Christmas is all about you, Jesus.
“I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it, when it's all about you, all about you Jesus”. Amen.

Hebrews 12:1-3 (The Message)
1-3 Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it.
Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!
