A song that has helped and challenged many is Matt Redman’s “Heart of Worship”. It challenges the many things that we do in an hour we call “worship”. (I wonder if we dare strip away the other and just worship how we would find that?). But what does God require?
[Look and Listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tURNqSgDjE8&feature=related]
When the music fades,
All is stripped away
And I will simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless your heart
I'll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself
It's not what you have required
You search much deeper within
To the way things appear
You're looking into my heart
I'm coming back to the heart of worship
When it's all about you
It's all about you, Jesus
I'm sorry Lord for the thing, I've made it
When it's all about you
It's all about you, Jesus
King of endless worth
No one could express
How much you deserve
Though I'm weak and I'm poor
All I have is yours
Every single breath
I'll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself
It's not what you have required
You search much deeper within
To the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

Psalm 29 (NIV)
A psalm of David.
1 Ascribe to the LORD , O mighty ones,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.
3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful;
the voice of the LORD is majestic.
5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;
the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the LORD strikes
with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the LORD shakes the desert;
the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the LORD twists the oaks
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"
10 The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;
the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
11 The LORD gives strength to his people;
the LORD blesses his people with peace.
Prayer:
Our Father, God, I come quietly into your presence. I acknowledge you as Creator and Lord of all. I also acknowledge that Jesus taught me to come to you as I would my Father. I sit quietly in your presence and thank you for all you are. Speak, if it be your will. Amen.
